Ghanaian actor and comedian Kwadwo “Lilwin” Nkansah has been granted bail by the Asokore Mampong District Court following his arrest in connection with a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy.
The court set bail at GH¢50,000 with two sureties.
Lilwin was taken into custody on Monday, June 3, after the incident, which occurred on May 25 at Amakom, Kumasi.
The accident involved a collision between Lilwin’s branded Mercedes-Benz and another vehicle. The circumstances leading to the collision are still under investigation.
The case, which has drawn significant public and media attention due to Lilwin’s celebrity status, has been adjourned to June 27, 2024.
The actor, known for his roles in various Ghanaian movies and comedic skits, is yet to comment publicly on the incident.
The court’s decision to grant bail allows Lilwin to remain free under specified conditions as the case continues.
