The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced an innovative ‘No-Academic-Fees’ policy for all first-year students in public tertiary institutions, aiming to make tertiary education accessible to all, regardless of monetary means.
At an NDC press briefing at the NDC Headquarters, Accra, the party unveiled its vision to transform tertiary education in Ghana.
The NDC’s policy aims to provide quality education for all Ghanaians, regardless of financial constraints. The party also pledges to offer free tertiary education for all persons with disabilities.
“We will implement a ‘No-Academic-Fees’ policy for all first-year students in all public tertiary institutions,” Hon. Dr. Clement Apaak, MP for Builsa South constituency, stated. He added, “We will provide Free Tertiary Education for all persons with disabilities.”
The NDC’s plans for tertiary education also include rebuilding the Student Loan Trust Fund, introducing legislation to usher in a new era of government scholarship administration, and decentralizing the GETFUND. Dr. Apaak emphasized that the NDC’s goal is to make tertiary education accessible and affordable.
