The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Director of Elections and IT, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has assured supporters that the party will complete the collation of at least 75% of the presidential election results by 11:00 p.m. on December 7.

Dr. Omane Boamah made this statement on Monday, November 11, 2024, while addressing party supporters in Otoase in the Ayensuano constituency as he commenced a five-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region.

Dr. Omane Boamah alleged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) plans to rig the upcoming elections, starting with the special voting on December 2, involving security agencies, journalists, and Electoral Commission (EC) officials.

He cautioned “The Elephant has planned to rig the election on that day. So, do not assume that special voting cannot be manipulated. Be vigilant with the elephant. The security personnel have decided not to allow any rigging by the NPP, so we must work with them to prevent any such attempts on December 2 and December 7.”

He urged NDC supporters to remain vigilant, saying, “Watch them with eagle eyes because they know they are losing this election and have plotted to rig it”

The former Minister of Communication Dr. Omane Boamah further advised supporters to use their mobile phones to record videos of the election results declaration processes on December 7 at polling stations, constituency collation centers, and regional capitals.

He also urged them to insist that the Presiding officers paste Pink sheets of the election results across all polling stations after declaration.

“The presiding officers must paste the pink sheet at the polling stations this is what CI 127 dictates and because CI 127 dictates this we want to ask the Electoral Commission to distribute 40,600 and overbook to all the potential polling stations that elections will be conducted on December 7? If the EC has not declared this and has not procured this glue the EC must procure it because the pink sheets must be pasted and pink sheets will be pasted because we shall ensure the pink sheets are pasted”, he stated.

Dr. Omane Boamah also encouraged supporters of the party to move to the constituency collation centers to continue monitoring the process.

“After declaration of the results as many of you that can should go to the constituency collation centers because no army has been able to defeat a determined people.Go there peacefully to protect your votes.Be courageous ,work with the security agencies. And we have insisted that every one who will be deployed as a security person to workin the election must be wearing the name tag”

He was optimistic that the NDC will win the Presidential election one- touch if it is conducted free, fair and transparent.

He concluded by encouraging supporters to be courageous but remain peacefull and work with security agencies, and ensure all security personnel deployed during the election wear proper name tags.
