The Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has charged newly graduated teachers from OLA College of Education to transform lives and shape the future of Ghana.

Speaking at the 17th Congregation of the College on July 11, 2025, Dr. Apaak emphasized the critical role teachers play in shaping the nation’s future.

“Your work is not merely to transmit knowledge but to transform lives and shape the future of our nation,” Dr. Apaak advised the graduands. He congratulated the graduating class, their families, and the entire College community on the significant milestone.

The theme for this year’s congregation was “A Journey to Excellence: A Legacy of Knowledge and Service.” Dr. Apaak praised OLA College of Education’s legacy of nurturing generations of dedicated teachers who have served with distinction across Ghana. He encouraged the new graduates to uphold this tradition as they embark on their teaching careers.

The Deputy Minister noted that the College has a rich history of producing quality teachers, and he urged the graduates to make a positive impact in their communities. “As you step into the teaching profession, remember that you are not just imparting knowledge, but shaping the minds of future generations,” he said.

The graduation ceremony marks a significant milestone for the students, who have undergone rigorous academic work and demanding teaching practice under the Supported Teaching in Schools (STS) model.

Dr. Apaak commended the College for its commitment to providing quality teacher education and encouraged the graduands to continue learning and growing in their profession.

As the new teachers begin their careers, Dr. Apaak expressed confidence that they would make a positive difference in the lives of their students and contribute to the development of Ghana. The Deputy Minister also urged them to be dedicated, passionate, and committed to their work and to always strive for excellence.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, families, and friends of the graduands, who celebrated the achievement of the new teachers. The graduating class was awarded diplomas in various fields of education, and they were encouraged to use their skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in their communities.
