Despite Ghana missing out on a recent global meeting held online by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Ghana Cricket Association is taking bold steps to strengthen the sport locally.
A two-day Level 1 Refresher and Assessment Course kicked off yesterday at the Achimota Cricket Grounds, aimed at certifying and empowering 13 coaches, including 4 women, from across Eastern, Ashanti, Northern, and Greater Accra regions.
Coach Tutor, Obed Harvey, emphasized that coaches’ seriousness, competence, and output will determine who gets selected among the top three to represent Ghana at the Africa Cricket Coaches Session scheduled for August 28-30, 2025, right here in Ghana.
Cricket officials and facilitators from Seychelles, Nigeria, South Africa, The Gambia, and more are expected for that event.
Harvey also encouraged Ghanaians and sports lovers to pass through Achimota to engage with the sport and support the growing cricket community.
