Thomas Partey has linked up with the Black Stars squad ahead of their departure from Accra to N’Djamena on Tuesday afternoon for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad.
The midfielder’s scheduled court appearance in London on rape and sexual assault charges has been adjourned to September 15, allowing him to join Ghana’s campaign without interruption.
The 32-year-old was initially set to appear at the Old Bailey on September 2, but the hearing has been rescheduled to take place at Southwark Crown Court. Partey faces five counts of rape involving two women and one count of sexual assault against a third, relating to incidents between 2021 and 2022 while he was with Arsenal.
He was formally charged just four days after leaving the North London club when his contract expired in June.
The adjournment clears any uncertainty over his availability for Ghana, who face Chad on Thursday, September 4, at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno.
The Black Stars currently sit top of Group I after six matches as they chase a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.
