NPP Primaries: It will take miracle for Bawumia to lose – Mussa Dankwah

Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, says it would take a miracle for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lose the NPP presidential primaries, projecting a decisive nationwide victory for the former Vice President.

Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has predicted an emphatic victory for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) ongoing presidential primaries, describing any other outcome as highly unlikely.

Speaking on GHOne TV during election coverage on Saturday, January 31, 2026, Mussa Dankwah said it would take nothing short of a miracle for Dr. Bawumia to lose the contest.

According to him, data and trends from polls earlier point to a decisive win for the former Vice President across the country.

He projected that Dr. Bawumia would secure victory in about 14 regions, winning by what he described as a “massive margin,” based on the strength of his support among delegates nationwide.

The NPP is voting today to elect its flagbearer for the 2028 general elections, with about 211,000 delegates casting ballots at more than 300 polling centres across the country.

Five aspirants are contesting the race: Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, Abetifi MP and former Minister for Food and Agriculture Dr. Bryan Acheampong, former Minister for Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former NPP General Secretary and Presidential Press Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.

Ahead of the polls, all aspirants signed a peace pact, committing themselves and their supporters to a non-violent process and pledging to respect the outcome of the election.

The NPP has also reiterated that the primary is an internal party exercise, with the Ghana Police Service designated as the sole security agency responsible for maintaining law and order throughout the voting process.
