The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has reaffirmed government’s commitment to industrialisation during a working visit to MND Metals Company Limited in Tema.
The visit, which took place on April 16, 2026, formed part of ongoing efforts by the ministry to engage directly with manufacturing firms and better understand their operational realities, as well as identify ways to strengthen the sector.

Touring the company’s facilities at the Tema Free Zones Enclave, the Minister underscored the importance of value addition, stressing that government policies are aimed at ensuring more raw materials are processed locally rather than exported in their raw state.
She explained that the restriction on the export of non-ferrous metals is intended to support local industries, boost production capacity, and create employment opportunities, particularly for young people.

The Minister noted that the approach aligns with government’s broader strategy to build a resilient industrial base and promote long-term economic growth.
Chief Executive Officer of the company, Nidal Nasseredine, welcomed the Minister’s visit and expressed support for the policy direction, indicating that it has improved access to raw materials for the company’s operations.

He said the initiative has positioned the company to sustain production and pursue expansion plans, while also acknowledging government’s continued engagement with industry players.
The visit is part of a broader push by the ministry to strengthen partnerships with the private sector and drive Ghana’s industrial transformation agenda.
