An unidentified man believed to be in his 30s has been found dead under disturbing circumstances in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region, after his mutilated body was discovered with several parts missing.
The remains were found dumped between Ekumfi Eyisam and Ekumfi Techiman, triggering fear and anxiety among residents.
Assemblyman for the Obontser Electoral Area, Abdul Razak, said he received a distress call at about 6:25 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, alerting him to the discovery.
Describing the scene, he said, “The body was badly damaged, making identification impossible. I suspect it was killed elsewhere and dumped here.”
The condition of the body has fueled speculation within the community, with some residents suspecting ritual-related activity, while others believe the victim may have been involved in an accident before being dumped at the location.
Residents say the incident has heightened insecurity in the area, with many calling on families to check on missing relatives.
The remains have since been conveyed to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Police in the Ekumfi District have launched investigations into the incident, but no arrests have been made so far.
The Assemblyman has appealed to the public to assist in identifying the deceased.
“If you have missing family members, please come forward or contact us,” he urged.
