Lawyer Amoah petitions NPP to suspend Abronye over leaked ‘party album’ comment.

The Disciplinary Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been charged to ensure the ‘suspension’ of the Bono Regional Chairman of the party, Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC from the party for declaring an intention to delete the names of certain delegates from the party’s electoral album ahead of the 2026 presidential primaries.

This action, an aide to former Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong, Lawyer Kobby Amoah, will demonstrate to the world that the party does not condone indiscipline in any form.

“I think Abronye must be suspended for his outburst on the party album…,” he opined in an interview on Kasapa FM’s Morning Show, ‘Ghana Kasa’ on Thursday, 2nd October, 2026.

The Bono Regional Chairman of the main opposition political party has come under intense criticisms lately following his comment in a leaked video that he will delete the names of some delegates from the party’s voting album ahead of January 2026 primaries.

The action of the vociferous regional chairman is geared towards disenfranchising some delegates of the party in the region who are believed to be against the candidature of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia

The alarming comment has since attracted widespread condemnation from the rank and file of the party.

The General Secretary of the party, Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, has released a starment condemning the comment of the Bono Regional Chairman.

Lawyer has also gone a step further to formally lodge a petition with the party’s National Disciplinary Committee for investigation.

The petition details the following principal areas of concern:

Mr Baffoe is accused of launching public verbal attacks on Ken Ohene Agyapong, a senior and respected member of the party. Among the derogatory remarks reportedly made was the claim that “even the elephant has more wisdom than Hon. Agyapong.” The party regards such statements as defamatory, inappropriate, and detrimental to both the individual and the wider party

The petition further states that Mr Baffoe falsely accused Mr Frimpong of deliberately hiding a report which allegedly implicated Kennedy Agyapong in efforts to undermine the Party, with a recommendation for his expulsion. The party describes these accusations as baseless, malicious, and harmful to the integrity of the General Secretary’s office.

Mr Baffoe is also accused of misrepresenting the contents of a disciplinary committee report, purporting that it catalogued offences committed by Kennedy Agyapong.

According to the petition, this act constitutes a breach of confidentiality and undermines the authority and integrity of the Committee.
