The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has appointed Ghanaian coach Laryea Kingston as the new Head Coach of all Uganda National Men’s Junior Teams on a two-year contract.
The announcement was made on Tuesday in Kampala by FUFA Chief Executive Officer, Edgar Watson, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Uganda’s youth football development.
Kingston, a former Ghana international, holds both UEFA A and CAF B coaching licenses and brings extensive experience to the role. He previously managed the Ghana U17 national team and worked with FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark as part of the renowned Right to Dream Academy setup, which has produced several top African players.
He succeeds fellow Ghanaian Samuel Kwesi Fabin, who handled Uganda’s U17 and U20 teams in 2019. Kingston’s appointment underscores FUFA’s continued faith in Ghanaian coaches to shape the next generation of Ugandan footballers through structured youth development.

Meanwhile, Brian Ssenyondo will continue as head coach of the Uganda U17 team as they prepare for next month’s FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar. He has, however, confirmed that this will be his final assignment at that level, though he remains open to future national team roles.
Kingston’s arrival is expected to inject new energy and a modern tactical identity into Uganda’s junior national teams, as FUFA pursues its long-term vision of producing world-class football talent.
