The 6th edition of the Ghana Minister of the Year (MOTY) Awards is set to take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the La Palm Beach Convention Center in Accra, with six Ministers of State shortlisted for the prestigious Minister of the Year 2025 award.
Organisers say the annual awards scheme has become one of Ghana’s leading platforms for recognising ministers who have demonstrated measurable performance and impact in public service.
The event, scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., is expected to bring together government officials, diplomats, private sector leaders, civil society actors and members of the media for an evening focused on governance, accountability and leadership.
According to the organisers, the 2025 edition comes at a critical period in Ghana’s development agenda, as the country continues efforts toward economic recovery, institutional reforms and sustainable growth.

They noted that the awards seek to recognise ministers whose work has gone beyond policy announcements to produce tangible results within their respective sectors.
The six ministers shortlisted for the top honour are Eric Opoku, Minister for Food and Agriculture; Cassiel Ato Forson, Minister for Finance; Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Education; Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources; Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Foreign Affairs; and Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister of Trade, Industries and Agribusiness.
Organisers indicated that all six nominees would receive awards on the night, while one minister would emerge as the overall Minister of the Year 2025 winner.
The organisers further stressed that the awards are not based on popularity but on performance assessment, stakeholder feedback and the measurable impact of ministerial work on national development goals.
According to the awards secretariat, the initiative aims to promote accountability in governance, restore public confidence in leadership and encourage a culture of excellence in public service.
The event is being organised under the theme of recognising delivery and performance in governance and is powered by Big Events Ghana.

The public has also been encouraged to join discussions online ahead of the ceremony using the hashtag #MOTYAwards2026.
