The Chief Executive Officer for the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors, Senyo Hosi, says infidelity and cheating in relationships are more harmful to families in Ghana than homosexuality.
“I believe in gay rights. The fact that you are gay shouldn’t deprive you of certain basic fundamental benefits. A lot of people use Apple, but the CEO of Apple is gay and that does not make him less of a man. I think infidelity, adultery affects families more than gayism. I think that children should be nurtured within the natural setting of a family and they can still decide to be gay when they want to.
“The kids today are smart, they know what LGBTQ is at five years old. People are straight and they are still stealing the government’s money. We have a Ghana to build, let’s focus on that. The youth, their orientation is very different. The children coming are very liberal-minded. So in another ten years, this conversation will change,” he disclosed on Starr Chat with Nana Aba Anamoah Wednesday, 10th November, 2021.
The Bulk Oil Distributors boss, however, indicated that he is a Christian and would not be a promoter or a conceptual believer of homosexuality.
“But I don’t think my religious beliefs should define the rights of others. I don’t even like the idea of calling that guy gay. If he is Kofi, he is Kofi. I think they have a right to be them, they have the right to be with us. It doesn’t make them less of a human than us and it doesn’t make us more human than them,” he added.
“We’ve had a time where wearing jeans as a woman was wrong. The Catholics didn’t welcome drums in the church. But today things have changed. People can wear hot pants and it doesn’t matter,” he added.
