Two immigration officers were shot by unknown assailants around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in Nagani, Tempane District, Upper East Region.
Both officers sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Tragically, one officer has died, while the other remains in critical condition.
Speaking to Atungo Iddrisu Kassim, Tempane District Chief Executive, Mbilla Joseph, confirmed that security agencies have launched investigations to apprehend the attackers.
He added that the officers’ rifles were taken during the attack.
The DCE urged residents not to link the incident to the ongoing conflict in Bawku.
Security has been tightened in the area, with military forces deployed to recover the stolen weapons and prevent further attacks.
