The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has held a grand finale dinner to climax its month-long 40th anniversary celebrations, with renewed calls for collaboration, innovation and continued commitment to aviation safety and development in Ghana.
The event brought together key stakeholders from the aviation industry, government officials, development partners, invited guests, as well as current and retired staff of the authority.
Among the dignitaries present were Ghana’s Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, and his deputy, Dorcas Affo-Toffey.
Speaking during the celebration, Madam Affo-Toffey described it as an honour to join the GCAA in commemorating four decades of service and contribution to Ghana’s aviation sector.
“As part of the Ministry of Transport’s continued dedication to Ghana’s aviation sector, it was a great honour to join the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority in celebrating its 40th Anniversary,” she said.
According to her, the milestone reflects “four decades of excellence, resilience, safety and dedicated service to the people of Ghana.”
Madam Affo-Toffey, who also serves as Member of Parliament for the Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, further praised the authority for its contribution to national development and the advancement of Ghana’s aviation industry.
“We proudly celebrate the Authority’s immense contribution to national development and its steadfast pursuit of advancing Ghana’s aviation industry,” she added.
The anniversary celebration highlighted the GCAA’s role in regulating and promoting aviation safety while supporting the growth of Ghana’s air transport sector over the past four decades.
