The Ministry of National Security has announced a ban on the use of drones at Independence Square during the swearing-in ceremony of incoming president, John Dramani Mahama on January 7.
In a press release on Thursday, the statement indicated that the ban affected all kinds of operational drones.
It observed that the objective was to guarantee the safety and security of all attendees and guests who would throng the premises to witness the 9th presidential swearing-in under the Fourth Republic.
“The Ministry of National Security announces a directive prohibiting the operation of drones at the presidential inaugural ceremony on 7th January 2025.
“The Ministry forbids the operation of drones at the Black Star Square and its surrounding areas during the ceremony. This restriction applies to all types of drones, including recreational and commercial ones.
