The High Court in Accra has granted bail to Alhaji Seidu Abagre, also known as Naa Sheriga, a retired teacher accused of holding himself out as a chief without qualification in the Bawku Chieftaincy saga.
He was granted GH¢100k bail with two sureties after the Attorney General waived the right to oppose bail.
The Court presided over by Justice Halimah El-Alawa Abdul-Basit has instructed Alhaji Seidu Abagre, aka Naa Sheriga, not to hold himself out as a Chief.
As part of his bail conditions, he is barred from traveling outside Accra until further notice. The Court has also ordered that he be provided with adequate medical care and security.
The presiding judge has also commended the State Prosecutors led by Deputy Attorney General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, and Alhaji Seidu Abagre’s lawyers led by Martin Kpebu for their cooperation and handling of the case.
