The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has suspended the licence of Tier 2 gold buyer Evanex Gold Enterprise, effective immediately, following an investigation that found the company engaged in illegal gold pricing practices.
In a statement released on Thursday, August 28, GoldBod directed all licensed miners, traders, and the public to halt any transactions with Evanex Gold Enterprise until further notice.
The regulator emphasized that the suspension is part of ongoing efforts to maintain integrity, accountability, and transparency in Ghana’s gold trading sector.
“This action follows an adverse investigative finding of illegal gold pricing made against the company by the GoldBod, contrary to the terms and conditions of the license of the company.
Notice is hereby given to all licensed traders, miners and the general public to desist from trading and/or engaging in any form of gold transaction with Evanex Gold Enterprise forthwith,” the statement read.
GoldBod assured stakeholders that it remains committed to enforcing compliance, safeguarding fair trading practices, and upholding industry standards across the nation’s gold market.
The Compliance Notice signed by GoldBod’s Directorate reiterated that the suspension is intended to protect the sector and prevent any unlawful activities from undermining Ghana’s gold industry.
