The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that it has received financial clearance for the payment of salaries for 6,249 teachers who were recruited in 2024.
This follows months of series protest by some of the newly posted teachers who have not received their salaries for several months.
In a statement dated October 16, 2025, and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Feyi, the Service said the approval “allows the Ghana Education Service to complete all necessary processes to ensure the staff receive their salaries.”
According to the release, the financial clearance will remain valid until December 31, 2025, but management has assured that all affected teachers will be placed on the mechanised payroll in time to receive their salaries by November 2025.
“Management of GES will ensure that all staff are placed on the mechanised payroll in time for November 2025 payments,” the statement read.
The Service expressed appreciation to all teachers for their patience and commitment, adding that it remains dedicated to facilitating timely and accurate salary disbursements.
