President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo has assured the Black Stars of his maximum support ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The Black Stars of Ghana booked thier ticket to their fourth appearance at the world stage after a 1-1 draw against Nigeria yesterday at the Mashood Abiola National satdium in Abuja, Nigeria.
The Black Stars later arrived in the country and met the President of the land this afternoon.
Upon meeting the Stars, Akuffo Addo thanked the team for their commitment and ensuring Ghana qualified to the tournament slated for November and December.
“I will like to extend my personal gratitude to you for putting the icing on the cake for my birthday yesterday. Thank you for lifting the spirit of the nation and now the nation had every reason to look forward to your performance in Qatar ” he said.
The President added that, the Government and all stakeholders will do their best to give the Black Stars all the support for the tournament.
“Everybody is going to be behind you. We are going to give you all the maximum support that we can. The Ministry, the officials of the Ghana Football Association and all the organizations will give you all the support that they can. I myself I’m organizing a special package for you. It is a token of my appreciation” he added.
Ghana would get to know their group stage opponents after the World Cup draw is held on Friday in Doha, Qatar.
