Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Bernard Bediako Baidoo has made a sweeping political prediction, declaring that rival parties could remain in opposition for as long as 30 to 40 years if Ghana is to maintain steady development.
Speaking on The Verdict with Isaac Addae, the MP argued that sustained governance by the current administration is necessary to avoid the disruptions that come with frequent political turnovers.
“That is why they should leave it for us,” he asserted. “At this point, we have it. So leave it and let’s develop the nation so that in 30, 40, 50 years, when they are fortunate to come back, at least they’ll see what we’ve done.”
Baidoo said Ghana needs long-term policy continuity to see real transformation, emphasizing that his projection might even go beyond three decades. “I am not yet sure about 30,” he added.
“But 40 to 45 years… they will be in opposition for 30 to 40 years.”
He accused the opposing party of repeatedly “disrupting” national progress whenever they return to power, insisting that Ghana’s development agenda requires uninterrupted leadership.
