The government of Ghana has signed 27 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Kingdom of Morocco.
This is in collaboration with the country’s vibrant Private Sector who signed 22 out of the 27 MoUs with the Northern African Country — with government directly signing five of those.
The MoUs signed today (Friday, February 17, 2017) at the Flagstaff House and witnessed by President Akufo-Addo and his Moroccan counterpart, King Mohammed VI are aimed at boosting bilateral trade between the two countries.
Addressing the gathering before the signing ceremony, Nana Appiagyei Dankawoso, President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry said signing of the MoUs signifies the beginning of greater cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking on behalf of the Moroccan delegation, Miriem Bensalah-Chaqroun, the president of Morocco’s CGEM said her country is delighted to partner with Ghana, assuring that they will make their economic and industrial models available to Ghanaian companies to adopt, ensuring efficient and rapid development in all the sectors that are covered in the MoUs that had been signed.
Meanwhile, the Moroccan King who arrived at the FSH Friday inspected a guard of honour formed in his honour amidst a 21-gun salute. He later held bilateral talks with the president after which both leaders honoured each other with the highest national award of their respective countries.
